Short Bio

Scott Parker is a fashion and portrait photographer, producer, and creative director based in Connecticut. As a producer, he plans the full scope of a shoot rather than just the photography, an approach that has placed his fashion work in international publications and reached Times Square billboards during New York Fashion Week. He also photographs executive and team portraits on location, develops model portfolios in New York City, and mentors other photographers through Peter Hurley's Headshot Crew.

Standard Bio

Scott Parker is a fashion and portrait photographer, producer, and creative director based in Connecticut.

His fashion work covers lookbooks, editorial, and campaign photography for designers and brands. That work, produced largely through his collaboration with designer Justin Haynes of JUS10H, now Vice Chairman of the Tokyo Fashion Council, has appeared in international publications and reached Times Square billboards during New York Fashion Week.

Scott photographs on-location headshots for executives, attorneys, physicians, and teams, working in the client's own office rather than a studio. The standard is the same whether the subject is a model or an executive: a genuine expression rather than a posed one.

He plans the full scope of a shoot rather than just the photography, often producing more than the single deliverable a client requests, covering editorial, campaign, social, and other uses from one engagement. On set, he directs background, color, pose, and post-production decisions, the choices that give a finished set of images a consistent, deliberate look.

Scott is a Mentor in Peter Hurley's Headshot Crew, a university instructor in History of Photography and Modern Art, and works with models in New York City on portfolio development.

Long-Form Bio

Scott Parker is a fashion and portrait photographer, producer, and creative director based in Connecticut.

Scott photographs lookbooks, editorial, and campaign work for designers and brands. The lighting and presentation stay consistent from look to look and from shoot to shoot, so a collection can move into wholesale, e-commerce, or print without a reshoot. His fashion photography has appeared in international publications and reached Times Square billboards during New York Fashion Week, much of it produced through his ongoing collaboration with designer Justin Haynes of JUS10H, now Vice Chairman of the Tokyo Fashion Council.

Scott also photographs portraits, including on-location headshots for executives, attorneys, physicians, and professional teams. He works in the client's own office or building rather than a studio. The standard he applies to a corporate portrait is the same one he applies to a fashion lookbook: a genuine expression, not a posed one.

Producing is part of the job too. Scott plans the full scope of an engagement, not just the photography, and a session is often scoped to generate more than the single deliverable a client requests, covering editorial, campaign, social, and other uses from one production rather than several. He treats that planning as the difference between being a vendor who fills an order and a partner in a client's business.

Creative direction is part of Scott's role as well: background selection, color strategy, pose direction, and the post-production decisions that follow a shoot. Those choices give a finished set of images a consistent, deliberate look from the first frame to the last.

Scott is a Mentor in Peter Hurley's Headshot Crew, where he gives technical guidance to other photographers. He is also a university instructor in History of Photography and Modern Art, and he works directly with models in New York City on portfolio and digital development.

Scott learned photography in a darkroom in eighth grade. He spent years afterward as a fine art photographer, studying historical and alternative photographic processes such as photogravure, and treating light not as a technical variable to manage but as the subject of the photograph itself. That early training is still the basis of how he works today, on a fashion set or in front of an executive.

Pull Quotes

"A photographer who thinks like a producer and creative director is a partner in a client's business, not a vendor selling a product." Scott Parker
