Getting a genuine expression from someone who isn't used to being photographed takes time. It takes conversation. Sometimes it’s fast. Sometimes it takes a bit of compasion and understanding.
That's the difference between a photo that documents someone and a photo that actually shows who they are.
This wasn't one person on a good day. This was a convention center full of people, one after another, and it worked every time.
